Marc Degryse took advantage of an error by the Moroccan goalkeeper to put Belgium into the lead with a headed goal on 11 minutes.

Saudi Arabia took a shock lead in the 18th minute, Amin heading home from a free-kick. In the second half the Dutch recovered, Jonk equalising with a thunderous drive from distance five minutes after the break. Taument scored the winner four minutes from time. The result eventually led to the Netherlands finishing top of the group after they and the Saudi team finished with identical records.

Fuad Amin scored the winning goal with a long range strike that the Moroccan goalkeeper completely misread in injury time at the end of the first half after his side had surrendered an early lead.

With five minutes gone, a Belgian attack broke down outside the Saudi penalty area. The ball was passed to Saeed al Owairan in the middle of his own half: he then ran through the entire Belgian team before popping the ball over the advancing goalkeeper.

After Bergkamp put Netherlands ahead in the 43rd minute, Morocco struck back two minutes into the second half to level the score. Bryan Roy scored the winning goal after 77 minutes.
